It is best if a person gets a tote or basket for their yarn and a set of Zip-Lock bags for their needles and scissors. If their knitting patterns are not in a book, they will want to keep printouts in a notebook. This is better than trying to read them on the computer, since messing with ones mouse might be annoying while in the process of knitting.
